Many MFP manufacturers are trying to catch up with the market with introductions of more powerful letter/legal MFP devices. Kyocera Canada has recently joined the club with the introduction of two units based upon their strong FS-3920 monochrome laser printers.
The FS-3040MFP and the FS-3140MFP are solid 42 ppm (letter) devices which respond to the needs of busy workgroups or small offices. They offer all of the key features of this kind of device with standard print, copy and colour scanning and in the FS-3140MFP fax as well.

The Kyocera line up has always been about low operating costs and these new models continue the trend. The retail toner cost in Canada for these models is less than 8 tenths of a cent per page at standard coverage. The drum is rated for 300,000 pages and the document feeder maintenance kit is at 150,000 pages and only costs $110 retail. These are impressive stats and will lead to a very low operating cost for the devices.
Purchase price will be competitive and will certainly be much less than an equivalently featured ledger capable (can print 11 x 17) MFP.
These devices are targeted at installations where the print output is only letter/legal based but which still need to support fast output and robust operations.
