Late last month a granddaughter of one of Leppert's employees celebrated her first birthday. For any family this is a special birthday but in Brooklyn's case it is even more so. When she was born she was almost four months premature and weighed just about 1.1 lbs. At the time there was a baby born in California at just about 1 lb and they were the tiniest newborns in all of North America.
In today's Hamilton Spectator, Brooklyn and her parents are the front page story, Parents’ gift to hospital honours ‘unbelievable’ premature baby, as her parents decided to celebrate her first birthday with a donation to McMaster Children's Hospital the place which was and still is so important to Brooklyn's well being. Read the story and be inspired.
Each time I write a blog article for the Office Document Strategies Blog, I try to put it in a context which links to the real lives of people who apply office technologies in their daily lives.
When I compare each of these posts to the exciting story of what Brooklyn, her parents, friends, relatives and the medical teams have done over the past year I realize that theirs is the true measure of how wonderful technological advances can be.
Sure what we do in each of our daily work lives is important, but when you contrast them to the wonder of seeing a tiny premature baby, struggle, persevere and now grow into a smiling, happy one year old you can't help but be lifted up.
On behalf of all of our Leppert Team, their many friends and supporters we want to wish Brooklyn and her parents a Happy Birthday and sincere best wishes for many more to come...and thanks for the special birthday present which was made to the hospital to help others who will come for help in the future.
