Some People Really Get Document Imaging in Ontario

For over 15 years I have sometimes felt like I was an evangelist as I quoted, configured and promoted document imaging in our area of Ontario, Canada.  In the past couple of weeks I have been gratified to meet and talk to people who have really understood the benefits and are adoptees of the tool.

First there was a partner in a Burlington accounting practice, SB Partners, who I talked to following a Small Business Week breakfast at the new campus of McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business.  He waxed eloquently on how their system had changed the way he worked and on how much more efficient he was since they went fully electronic over the past ten years.  So refreshing!

Today I did a demo for people in the administration office of an academic department of the University of Toronto.  Their current document imaging system was broken and the vendor is no longer supporting it well.  They are looking to replace it with a new tool and I was pleased to use our docucapture hosted document management system to demo the SentryFile DM.

Once again, these people understood what they needed and expressed their frustration with not having the tool they had been using available any longer.  They are really looking forward to putting a new system in place for them to work with and get back into the electronic filing world again.  The boxes have been piling up over the summer while they decided what to do.

What a refreshing discussion about HOW, not why they could build their record system.

I am really encouraged.  Maybe we are finally getting out of the paper world and embracing a better way to file our records and get on with our lives....I hope so.  For now, I'm going home tonight with a bounce in my step.

Do you still build paper records in your office?  If so why?
