When we think about office documents and our strategy in dealing with them the common picture in our mind is a piece of paper. For many workers this picture in their mind is starting to change. It could be the 140 characters of a tweet, the images of a facebook page, or an email message coming through LinkedIn. It may also be a new blog post that has been posted to your website.

In our office we saw two new BYOD devices (Bring Your Own Device) show up after the holiday gift giving season. Not a lot until you work it out on a percentage basis and that is over 13% increase beyond the multiple of smartphones and tablets already being used. Over 50% of our employee group has some sort of device connected to our wireless for at least part of the work day.

Ricoh Announces Non Renewal Service Agreements for Canon MFP

In his christmas blog, Vince McHugh published a copy of a recent letter that has been sent by Ricoh USA to their customers (former Ikon customers) who are still operating Canon equipment. This letter indicates that they will no longer renew service agreements with those customers on their Canon equipment once their current plan runs out.

Business Computer Support Burlington Affected by Loss of SBS

With the announcement of the release of Windows Server 2012 Microsoft also announced that it will no longer offer a Windows Small Business Server (SBS). For company in our area (Burlington ON) who have focused a lot of their business computer support on SMB businesses this is going to make for some changes in the focus of their work.
